Study in Canada
Each year, thousands of international students choose Canada for their education—attending universities, colleges, and even high schools across the country. To pursue studies in Canada, most foreign nationals must obtain a Study Permit, along with a visa in many cases, to enter and remain in the country legally during their studies.
STUDYING IN CANADA WITH A STUDY PERMIT
If you’re a foreign national planning to study in Canada for more than six months, you will need a valid study permit. Your chosen institution must be officially recognized by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). In addition, individuals from certain countries may also require a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) to enter Canada.
STUDYING WITHOUT A STUDY PERMIT
In some cases, a study permit is not necessary. You may be eligible to study in Canada without one if your course lasts six months or less, if you’re a minor already residing in Canada, or if you are a family member or staff of a foreign diplomat posted in Canada.
EARNING WHILE STUDYING
Many international students have the opportunity to work while completing their studies in Canada. This allows you to earn income and gain valuable work experience, helping you both financially and professionally during your academic journey.
LIFE IN CANADA AFTER GRADUATION
Graduates from Canadian institutions often qualify for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), enabling them to stay in Canada and gain full-time work experience in their field of study.
PATHWAYS TO PERMANENT RESIDENCY
Canada encourages international students to stay and build their future here. After graduation, there are multiple immigration programs that offer a pathway to permanent residency, allowing you to continue living and contributing to Canada’s society and economy.
